Sustainable & Green Digital Infrastructure

EduGrow Learning’s websites, web apps, and online tools are powered by Sustainable Hosting, one of the world’s oldest and most credible green web hosting providers. Since 2006, Sustainable Hosting has specialized in carbon-neutral and carbon-negative hosting and web solutions, and they have been carbon-negative since 2021. Rather than relying on offsets, they ensure that all infrastructure runs on 100% renewable energy, servers are placed in verified renewable-powered data centers, and operational practices exceed traditional environmental standards. Their systems are engineered to give more back to the planet than they consume, producing excess solar energy at their offices and minimizing waste at every level of the technology stack.

As a result, every page load, form submission, and user interaction across our digital ecosystem is served with minimal carbon footprint and maximal environmental integrity.

Note on Chrome extensions: Chrome extensions operate differently from websites and web applications when it comes to environmental sustainability. While EduGrow’s websites and web apps are fully hosted on renewable-powered, carbon-negative infrastructure, Chrome extensions are ultimately delivered and distributed through Google’s Chrome Web Store and browser ecosystem, which means developers have limited control over the underlying hosting and delivery infrastructure. That said, how an extension is designed still matters. EduGrow develops Chrome extensions with sustainability in mind by: Keeping code lightweight and efficient to minimize CPU, memory, and battery use, avoiding constant background activity or unnecessary data polling, ensuring extensions run only when actively needed by the user, prioritizing clean, modern browser APIs that reduce computational overhead, and providing environmental reciprocity offsets (see below).

Environmental Reciprocity

Every purchase through EduGrow Learning is designed to support both meaningful learning and meaningful environmental impact.

Here’s how it works:

EduGrow’s web applications and websites are hosted on carbon-negative, renewable-powered infrastructure. Tools that operate within shared ecosystems, such as Chrome extensions, require additional environmental reciprocity and, therefore, contribute at a higher proportional level to restorative causes.

This approach allows us to be transparent, responsible, and regenerative—acknowledging digital impact while actively investing in solutions.
